MMU Joins Urban Forum Alliance of MUF 2020

Malaysia Urban Forum which was held for the first time in 2019 will take place on 28-30 September 2020 as a hybrid forum which will include physical meeting in Kuala Lumpur and as well as an online platform allowing to follow sessions and events remotely.

MUF 2020 will be organized with the theme “Sustainable Urban Nation 2030 – Transformative Pathways and Actions to Deliver the Sustainable Agenda.” The subjects of inclusive urbanization, innovation & technology for sustainability, urban resilience & low carbon, culture & creative cities, financing sustainability will be addressed at different events ranging from a virtual exhibition to main sessions, side events, urban labs and so on.

This year, MUF will also launch an initiative called “Urban Forum Alliance” in which Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF) will be involved. Marmara Municipalities Union will organize special sessions within MUF to showcase best practices from Turkey and to promote MARUF, which takes part among the global partners of MUF along with UN-Habitat.
